FAMILY THEATER– inspired to the fairy tales by Italo Calvino.

Arterie Teatro (BA)
Written and performed by: Alessandra Sciancalepore

A busy cook is preparing a special soup. The children act as her assistants, using their imagination to taste the soup, add ingredients and discover that it is salt that gives the soup its flavour! A show featuring actresses and puppets, with incidental music drawn from the most famous arias of opera, in which kitchen objects and utensils become characters in a story that celebrates Italian culture through bel canto, the regional diversity of flavours and the poetry of sustainability.

Amidst pots, plates, ladles and wooden spoons, the characters will come to life, inspired by one of the tales from Italo Calvino’s “Fiabe Italiane”: the story of the beautiful Zizola, a princess banished by her father the King because she loves him ‘as much as salt’. But it is salt which, like love, gives flavour to food and to life, and only at the end will her father understand this great truth.

In case of rain the event will be held at Centro culturale Nostr@domus, in Baveno, Church square, 6

Free entrance

Organised by Teatro Blu in collaboration with the City of Baveno.
