Baroque music concert as part of the “Di Parola in Musica” festival.
The great revolution of the Baroque is to move from a phenomenal contrapuntal composition to a much simpler one based on virtuosity.
Violin, flute and violoncello became, at the beginning of the 17th century, the instruments of reference for virtuosity and invention. Many composers, experts on these instruments, produced an enormous series of sonatas for two, three, four and even ten instruments.
This revolution was accompanied by the birth of the sacred and secular cantata genre. The virtuosity of the instruments is complemented by that of our soprano, Alice Rossi.
